RAYS Wheels enters F1 and appoints Co-ordSport as UK Distributor
RAYS Wheels of Osaka, Japan has signed a technical partnership with Formula 1 team Williams, and will be the Williams official wheel supplier from 2007.
RAYS has also appointed Co-ordSport as a key European Distributor for their range of competition and road car wheels. Co-ordSport will act as liaison office for the F1 partnership.
RAYS is a leading manufacturer of forged one & two piece wheel rims, for OEM and the aftermarket. RAYS has their own forging press, only making dies for their racing wheels. The knowledge and experience gained from their racing and competition activity, is used to develop the RAYS range of strong and lightweight road wheels.

Compared with casting, forging is difficult. This difficulty limits the production of forged wheels and makes them more expensive. Even though forged wheels provide such great performance, if they remain unaffordable and hard to get, thier benefits will never be widely recognized.
