11th July 2024
With only a few weekends to go and being right at the front of the Championship, Part-Box sponsor Logan Hodgetts knew this weekend really mattered.
Round 7 – Saturday
Qualifying – P14
Heat 1 – P14 ↑ P4
Heat 2 – P14 ↑ P7
Final – P4 → P4
A difficult qualifying meant Logan had to start down the order for Saturday’s action.
In the first heat Logan shown really strong pace and with a really good start from P14 to P5 in the opening lap as he was right in the fight for the rest of the race. From here Logan had some good battles and he eventually took the flag in P4. The second heat Logan then moved up the order more gradually and with some good overtaking he finished in P7.
In the final it was a bit less interested as Logan started in P4 but at the start he dropped down to 6th place. However he quickly came back to P4 where he remained until the checkered flag.
Round 8 – Sunday
Qualifying – P1
Heat 1 – P1 ↑ P2
Heat 2 – P1 ↑ P2
Final – P2 ↓ P3
A much better qualifying in the second day of racing meant Logan was in pole position for the two heats.
In the two heats, he had lost the lead on lap one and couldn’t make an overtake work from there. However he still had pace in both heats, finishing 0.095s off the win heat 1 and just 0.092s off 1st in heat 2.
With the close heat results Logan knew he had the pace to be there for the final. Unfortunately, Logan struggled for pace in the final race, dropping back 4s from the lead in the opening laps. From there Logan dropped a position to P3 where he took the flag.
With two racing weekends to go in this championship and being 16 points off the lead, Logan was looking for some consistent results to try to take back the championship lead.
